Turning 30 this year.

My impending birthday is on my mind. It's more so on my mind because my bestie Angie is turning 30 in Feburary which means mine is right around the corner.

We thought of doing a joint birthday party like a couple of 4 year olds. I want a band, some food, she wants some drinks, and to dance. It's the best of both worlds.

My gift to myself this year it a set of new tata's. Yes I said it, as a well as a tummy tuck. This momma is not turnng 30 with out a fight, and a visit to a plastic surgeon. I hope to get surgery in April which leaves me time for my coming out party in May. LOL.

Yes it's the vainess in me that I want the make over, but damn it to all. I will look good turning 30.

Random Things I want - not for me !

I was cruising the baby stuff on the internet, and happened upon these cutie pie stuff. Buy it here at Flying Peas.

Loving the construction set utensils.

It's about time.

Finally Nicholas is starting to talk besides the normal maaamaa. Yes said just like that. He still points a lot when he wants to get your attention to see something. But other wise he says cookie, something that sounds like baaabee. (baby) and kitty, that sounds like kitschy. oh well at least I can understand him.

Ding Ding! In this corner....

Alright I am getting tired it seems like I am managing a cage match or straight out brawl between Nicholas and Richie.

Nicholas knows that he isn't as big as Richie so he comes out with sticks and knives. OK not knives, but play golf clubs, and plastic bats. He chases Richie until he catches him with a flying bat.

Then you have fist of fury Richie who comes out arms blazing and hauls off and hits Nicholas.

I have tried time outs, I have spanked them both. But no luck. Do all boys fight?

I am new to the boy thing. I can't be having the cage matches anymore. Someone is gonna get hurt.

Bowling Fun!

Not the best picture but Gianna trying her best to get her ball down the lane.

Nicholas and Richie having some fun.

Little bruiser ready for battle.

Nicholas having fun on the rids a different day.

Things about my kids.

Gianna loves to make homemade gifts. She made my Dad a box full of papers that had moods on them. She told him to take a paper put it in his pocket so he would have that mood all day. She cracks me up.

Gianna had yarn from wall to wall in her room. I felt like an insect caught in a spider web when I walked in there. of course I told her to take it down.

She is getting really good at ballet. I hope she continues to like it. I can't wait for her recital in June.

Richie my poor boy is accident prone. He dropped a toy on his toy which caused it to bleed and the toe to turn black. My poor baby but he's a trooper.

Richie says he is my boyfriend and I am his girlfriend. I love that he loves hugs and kisses in public and hold my hand. I am sure that won't last very must longer so I am sucking it all up while I can.

Nicholas is a little snake charmer. He doesn't talk very much but oh he knows how to get his way. He smiles and coos and comes hug my leg to get his way. Of course I am a sucker for it.

I must admit I hate that the kids climb in bed with me. But there will come a day when I will miss little feet in my back and those little warm bodies sleeping next to me. :(

Scary Movies= Scardy Cat Ida

oh when I was younger I use to hate watching scary movies. I must admit I still do. I think Freddy did it. I was at that fragile age where you really can understand the movies, and they scare the crap out of you. Nightmare on Elm Street was that movie for me. I didn't want to go to sleep. I remember not watching the Exorcist till I was old I just couldn't do it.

The poltergeist movies yep them too. Way to scary for me. I even hate the images of the little green men in Alien movies. I almost crapped myself when I first saw the movie signs. I am a grown woman who squealed like a little girl when the alien flashed throw the lens of the camera. oooh scary.

So anyways, no late night scary movies for me. I am chicken.

Does your kitchen have a theme?

I am in the process of trying to really decorate my house little by little. I don't have much in my kitchen right now. I am notorious for clearance stuff. So I was stoked when I found some cute scroll looking plaques to hang on the wall. They are maroon in color. I still need to plates but haven't decided what yet.

I am not above searching Walmart and especially Target. I need to find something. I think my last set came from Ikea. And to top it off the last house we lived in one of the shelves broke so there went half of my plates.

So what's in your kitchen. A certain color, a rooster, olives, grapes? What do you have?

Sewing is Fun- NOT!

oh How I wish I could sew like my friend Bibi. She can sew so nice. I can't sew for *h%$ . OK well I can sew some stuff. I sewed a few blankets, and a shopping cart cover. But for the life of me I can not sew from a pattern. I have tried and tried. It's like reading french to me. I just can't get it. I bought material to make these really cute aprons, bought the pattern but nope. I just can't do it.

I feel dumb something that is fun gives me grief. So there the material waits for me to learn someday.

oh and since I can't sew a pattern I found this really nice lady on craigslist who will make me a scrub dress. Because yeah I can't sew that pattern either.

My Roll Bounce Obsession

Every time this movie comes on I have to watch it. It reminds me of a simply time when boy liked girls and they let your know it by being mean to you. The sound track is amazing if you like those types of songs.

I love that it is set in a roller rink. We use to have a roller rink here. I remember going when I was in elementary school. It was so fun. I use to go with my pee wee football cheerleaders.

It's a coming of age movie I absolutely love. Yes it corny and funky but I like it.

Help Tiburon Out! Ride for the Cure Juvenile Diabetes

Help Tiburon out with her fund raising for juvenile diabetes research. Click here

For those of you that are new to my blog, you may or may not know that my son has Type 1 Diabetes. He was diagnosed almost 5 years ago.

The diagnosis was heartbreaking. As a parent you try to do everything you can to help your kids and keep them safe. When the doctor said "He has diabetes" my heart ripped in two. They admitted him to the hospital and I spent the first couple of days going through the motions - I completely shut down. On the third day - as I sat in the Forever Young playroom at Primary Children's Medical Center - I had an epiphany. It could be worse - so much worse. There were kids in that hospital that had diseases that were 10 times worse than diabetes. There were kids that would never walk again. Kids that may only live another year, or month, or day. There were kids with cancer and leukemia and congenital heart conditions - you name it. Ethan only had diabetes. We would learn and get control and he would be able to walk and run and play sports and get married and have kids and a pretty normal life.

I changed that day. I had something to fight for. A cause. Some direction. I went home and started doing research - read everything I could get my hands on. We enrolled in studies. We taught him about his disease. And most importantly we found an organization to put our time and energy into. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is our charity of choice. They are the ones that are raising the money and doing the research and finding the breakthroughs that will lead to a cure. Most importantly, they focus on finding a cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Not education. Not type 2. FINDING A CURE.

Every year I support them and raise money for the Walk to Cure Diabetes - but this year I am taking it up a notch. I just signed up to do the Ride to Cure Diabetes in June. This is what the ride entails: I agree to raise the minimum $4200 and they fly me and my bike to Sonoma, California so that I can cycle 105 miles in ONE DAY. I want to point out a few obvious things (so you don't need to):

1. I don't own a bike. For real.

2. I have never riden a mile on a bike - much less 105 in one day. Sure I do spin class - but that bike doesn't move. As far as real bikes go - haven't riden one since I was a kid.

3. I am aware that economic times are tough and I am trying to scale a pretty big mountain to meet the minimum fund-raising requirement of $4200.

4. Now that I am signed up I am committed. If I can't raise the $4200 I have to pay it myself.

5. I am freaking insane. I have 5 months to raise the money and get my buns in shape.

6. All of these things hit me like a freight train at 3:03 in the morning when I woke up in a cold sweat.

So there you have it. This is where you come in. I need help. BAD.

If you are interested in donating to my cause you can click here. (Your donation is tax deductible!) If you want to encourage me - I will take it. I need all the money and encouragement I can get. If you want to post about this on your blog - I might kiss you. More than anything I just need support. I need the support of my friends and family to pull me through and keep me going when I want to quit - because I know I will want to quit.

I won't be hitting you up to walk with me this year. This is it. This is the Big Kahuna - the whole ball of wax. It all comes down to 105 miles in wine country on one day in June. For Ethan.

I love Tiburon I am always amazed at the things she puts her mind to. I am sure she will raise the money but she needs all the help she can get. Go on over and help her raise the $4200.00

Man my clothes are old!

I just realized as I dashed to put on a comfy sweater that the sweater is over 9 years old. I remember wearing it when I was pregnant with Gianna. I can not believe I have clothes that are 9 years old in my closet.

I have basic things like a cardigan black that has actually held it's shape and color 8 years old.

I had jeans in there from 2000. Yes I do clean out my closet too. I found black dress pants from sizes 12 to 4 because Lord knows I have been every size after having kids.

No shoes though I am pretty trendy when it comes to shoes. Except for the basic pumps etc. Those never go out of style.

I can not be the only one with really old clothes am I?

Things that happen here (well maybe)

Yes I let my kids run around in a diaper. Yes that would be Nicholas.

Yes I even catch them running outside in their socks no shoes or bare foot.

We maybe had left over pizza for breakfast this morning.

I give the baby chocolate.

My cows oops I mean kids graze through out the day. (working on that one)

I threw clothes from the landing down. There was too many baskets to carry.

Richie fights with the neighbor across the street. A grown man mind you. This is little Richie not the big one.

I have swept my floor 3 times today. Because a little person likes to launch food from his high chair. (working on that too).

That is all for now. I need to go do my homework.

In a Funk!

So lately I have been wanting to blog but no time. . Things are super busy at work and home. I don't want to bore everyone here with my "true" home life. Yeah not everything is always hunky dorey here. Stuff happens. But I have been feeling in a funk lately. Even the hubby asked my if I had seasonal depression. Yes there is such a thing.

Who knows what is is maybe I have too much on my plate. Maybe it's the job, the move to another department, maybe it's that he works to damn much. Maybe I over extended myself with the 3 jobs of mine, and starting school. Who the heck knows. I know I am not perfect I am throwing that out there.

So when I don't blog for a few days it's not because I don't want to. It's because I am too damn busy. Besides my 2 visitors won't be too sad if I miss a few days. ;)

Mother's Ring?

Am I weird that I sort of want a mother's ring. But a cool one. I am not knocking out peoples rings but I don't want the traditional heart with all my kids names etched on. See below. I want something more "me".

Is it even "in" to have a mothers ring? I haven't seen many sporting one for some time now.

These rings are ok. I guess I could stack them. And at Zales they are super cheap. Hmm I wonder maybe I can design my own mothers ring. Save me the headache of having something very ordinary looking.

So what are your thoughts on a ring?

Wanna run away with me?

The wonderful Carlsbad 5000 is coming up. I am looking for some people willing enough to race. It's a super fun race. Right along the ocean is the route. It's in the beautiful city of Carlsbad. Did I mention there is a beer garden afterwards. And when you are all done and basking in all it's glory with your free bagel, beer and banana, you can go shopping at the outlets.

C'mon you know you want to. Sign up here.

Top Ten List

Top Ten Things that are irking me this week.

1. I have to buy new tires. At a whopping 200.00 a tire.

2. Said tires have been on back order for about 2 weeks.

3. In the mean time I got a slow leak on tire so now I am on a donut freaking tire.

4. I paid 100.00 for a USED art book which I will ever use again, after this semester.

5. I start ICU next week and my mind is in a funk about it.

6. I am super slow on the treadmill or how I call it the death mill. See mii below for reference.

7. My favorite dansko mary janes broke. I love those work shoes.

8. Tax season is coming up.

9. I need a mani and a pedi and my roots done. I am starting to look a mess.

10. I still can't get off the last 8 lbs.

I hope these things can resolve themselves magically. Where is the Staples "easy" button when I need it.

Nicholas the cookie thief.

Nicholas is a sly one. Oh yes he is. This morning I am struggling to get my homework done by deadline, breakfasts, G off to school. You know the usually. So I have one eye on the computer and one on the boys.

Well I see Nicholas come out of the pantry with cookies. In my house the cookies are high on the shelf not be reached by little hands. Well the magician he is gets to the cookies. He walks out of the pantry happy as can be and says "shhookie" imagine it will a lisp thrown in for good measure. He is so proud of himself he managed to get to the cookies.

Even Richie can't reach them so he tell Nicholas go find me one too. Of course Nicholas does. Those boys crack me up.

I finally had to put the smack down and locked the pantry.

Let the insanity begin.

I started school on Thursday. I was a mad mad woman. I literally ran to class from just getting off from work. I think I broke my favorite work shoes in the process. I love those work shoes. Let me take a moment to mourn my shoes. Yes I said mourn my shoes.

Anyways getting off track here. I was able to crash a online Art class. The funny thing is you have to show up the first day to meet the teacher and other dates for tests etc. Gladly I got in. I also am taking an English class online.

All these classes so lil ol' me can get her bachelors and masters. Wish me luck the insanity has begun.

Nicholas and his mullet.

Nicholas's hair is starting to resemble a mullet or a little rats tail. His hair is so fine not like my other children's hair. I have been putting it on the back burner giving him his first hair cut. But now is the time to finally cut his hair.

Do you save your babies first locks. I must be a bad mom because I never did.

oh and if you need your fix of all things mullet please refer to this site. I almost peed myself.

Clearly not my child but Nicholas's hair is getting pretty darn close.

Don't you hate those unexpected bills?

These are sorry times in these parts. Thankfully I do say God is watching out and I received a check for work I did awhile back. Woohoo for 800.00 magically showing up in the mail box. I really did forget about that check coming. But good thing it did. I need to buy new rims for the sub-bus. When we bought it used it already had these wannabe DUB city 22 inch rims on it. Well those suckers are eating up $200.00 tires like they are krispy kreme donuts. I am pissed. So this week I need to look for new rims and of course a set of new tires. I can imagine how much this will cost. But I am sure that the check will come in handy. Thank God!

In other news, I will be good this year and try to pay off one credit card this year. I need to tighten the belt, but I am sure it is do able. Heck we have fun now it's time to pay for it.

NO post since Wed.

I guess I was on a self imposed hiatus. I worked Thursday all day long. It was a busy day. I also worked Friday in the other hospital as a rent a nurse.

Saturday was my mom's 50th birthday party. It was fun. I sadly didn't get any pictures myself. I need to get them from my aunt who took a lot that night.

Anyways I vow to blog more. I need to this year. At least I hope to. But you know things get in the way like feeding the children, my job oh and that pesky house work that never ends. On that note I think the housekeeper fired me. woohoo way to go ME! She hasn't showed up in 3 weeks. I really think she peeked in after the holidays and thought shoot this is too much and said peace out.

Here to looking to 2009!
