I was sitting here minding my own business when the doorbell rang.
I got up to answer it, it was a man with a badge. He introduced himself as Mr.___ from Homeland Security. I was thinking rut roh who the heck it this and what does he want here? He proceeds to show me his credentials.
Thankfully he was not there to haul me or the children away. He was there to talk to me about my neighbor. First I thought oh sh** what is going on with my neighbor? Then I realized before I let my mind wander too much (drug trafficing, coyote, terrorist) that he works for the government.
They were here to ask about him, making sure he was a good neighbor, no loud music , or hollaring at his family etc.
Of course he is a good neighbor, really I have a quiet neighborhood of working peeps.
That was our drama for the day.

oooooh nooooo!
This is a venting post. I swear men must have PMS like women. I think that is happening to my hubby or he is going through a mid-life crisis. Please let it pass quickly because I don't want to have to hurt my husband. LOL

Peppercheese, Watermelon, and Fish
That is what Richie tells me when he doesn't like the way something smells.
So you may get the Mom you stink like peppercheese or peppercorn, and fish while he waves his hand in front of his nose. That was last week when I ate a garlic pizza. I wanted a kiss he gave me that line.
That kid cracks me up.

Bad & Sort of Funny
Did you need Wonder woman to rescue you?
I just may have to eat the Krispy Dog, The french fry dog and the hamburger dog.
Not recommended for the office party or in the South.
Now who wouldn't want that lobster. Too cute.

Weird Shoes
For the tinkering sort of people out there.
When you can't decide if you want shoes or pants to wear out. I guess it would be a pain to have to go to the bathroom in these shoes.
For the multi-tasker in you. You can store your gameboy and toys all in one place.
Don't know what to do with that lock of hair you just cut off. Go ahead you know you want to. You can make a snazzy pair of sandals with the hair. This years fashion statement.
Every wanted a fur coat, well here is the next best thing fur slippers. Complete with legs and arms. Surely to keep your toes toasty this winter.

Things on the horizon
Many a year in the making but some changes are coming to my little family here.
First of all my hubby will finally finish his bachelor's degree this next month. I am so proud of him. He has slaved away at this for 2 years after work, on the weekends, in the middle of the night. He will be finally done. Yeah Richie.
He also decided he wants to quit his job. Richie has been in management for 4 years now. It has had it's run but he is tired. His last day is October 14th. I was a bit shocked at first. We had talked about him quitting jokingly, but I never thought he would do it. Well he did. So he will be a Mr. Mom while I go to work full time. oh yeah I am so excited. (insert eye roll here)
I thought he was going through a midlife crisis but nope he is just tired of the job.
I finally did my first shift in the ICU. I have talked awhile about going well I made the leap. It was a very eventful day. I was mentally and body ached tired by the end of the day.
On another note since I have been in a body funk lately. I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon in San Diego. I can't wait.

Things I may have said at work Part Duex!
ok I am throwing this out there. This is stuff I may have thought or said at work.
- YOU have a rash where? (as I lift folds of skin to inspect said rash)
- Did I just see a tick come out of there?
- Is slapping a patient considered a medical intervention?
- NO I can not give you anymore medication. I am giving you an amount that could kill a horse.
- Dr go get me some tea! Stat! ( I am especially fond of Earl Gray Tea lately)
- No you don't want to see that. It can scare small children!
- Don't make me charge nurse you all will be sorry,
- Did that med knock her out yet?
- Is anyone else working today or am I the only one?
- Throwing yourself on the floor is not gonna help your condition.

Rock Monster
I love this video. I took the video on the sly. While I was pumping gas in the bus. Richie loves Veggie Tales. We have downloaded many a tunes from the singing veggies.
Anyways, one of Richie's favorite songs are "The Pirates Who Don't do Anything" and "Rock Monster".

Happy 41 baby!
Yesterday was my hubby's 41th birthday. He should be happy he still has wife in her twenties. Even if I am hanging on to my 20's by a thread. We did nothing in the morning. Went to a movie by ourselves in the afternoon. No kids just me and him. For dinner we went to the local steakhouse. But for some reason they were closed. So we had Chinese food instead. We ordered entirely too much food. But it was yummy.
I am very happy to have such a great husband.

Thankful Thursday
I lost my thankful graphic. I must go look for another. Anyways I am thankful today for...
1. Today, we live today we think about the other who have lost their lives in the Sept 11th attacks. I certainly will never forget those who lost their lives. I can't even imagine the poor family's.
2. Nicholas being some what healthy again. His 4 day fever finally broke today. He was hovering around 102 for awhile there. Luckily today he is feeling better.
3. School starting again. As much as I love my kids. I am happy for Gianna to have some routine again.
4. Being home this week.

Things I love! Food Edition
Everyone knows I am a freaky deak when it comes to cupcakes. I have blogged about Sprinkles before. We waited in line for these coveted cupcakes. They are so yummy. I bet I could eat 3 all by myself right out of the box. I am a freak I know.
Again one of my many weakness is these chocolate squares. Yes I can eat them all by myself in one sitting in about 20 minutes that's if I pace myself.
This next place is in San Diego. I highly suggest going there if you are ever in town. They have the most beautiful desserts on the planet. I mean they put fresh flowers, gold flakes, ribbons on the cakes. They are really a beautiful thing, well that is until you get the bill. Be prepared to drop a 50 note on dessert. But it's so worth it.
This one may not look too appetizing but oh boy it is. I love L&L Hawaiian BBQ. It's so yummy I love the salad it comes with. I have searched high and low all through California. I now know where this spot is when I need a fix. Above is the Katsu Chicken. Very Very good. Take an antacid you'll need it.
Last but certainly not least is Leonard's Bakery in Hawaii. It's a main staple of Oahu you must go there and get a donut. They are so yummy and sugary. It's like a diabetic coma waiting to happen.
I am a nut about foods right now. I start to cherish these foods when I am on a diet. And since I am dieting yet again, I must live out my food fantasies through pictures.LOL

My parent's rolling big!
I am happy for my parents this weekend, they jet set to Las Vegas. OK well maybe southwest took them but the went none the less. They met up with my Tia's Gloria, Carmen, and Edith. My Tio Danny even went for the ride. They took a helicopter ride to the Grand canyon , and Hoover Dam. They saw Circue de Sole or however the heck you spell it. Then they were going to see Cher. They come home today. I am sure they will be tired from their whirlwind weekend.
Either way I am sure that was a 30th anniversary to remember. :)

Busy Busy
Of course this week will have it's up's and downs. I work tomorrow with the Dr giving some IV's in the office. Plus I have a doctor's appt. No working on Wed. or Thurs. woohoo. I am debating going to Mops. They have all new officers this year that should be interesting. I am all for woman's groups but even a Christian woman's group can have it's catty-ness. Is that even a word who knows but it can.
I have been working out again faithfully. My goal is to lose the last 10 lbs by Nov. I have a wedding to go to. And my vain-ness won't let me look crappy in a dress. I am debating doing a race again. Maybe it will motivate me to get my rear in gear again. We'll see though.
ok off to find more interesting things to blog about.

Am I crazy?
We all know this isn't me. But lately I have been feeling like this with the scale. I am doing better this week. I really am. I am working out. But I am in defeat still. I am gonna lay it all out there.
I thought I looked good once upon a time. I weighed 115 when I got pregnant with Gianna. Many spicy crispy chicken sandwiches, mixed in with pre-eclampsia for good measure. I gained a whopping 64 lbs. I looked like a walking tomato. Why didn't anyone tell me not to wear a red dress to my baby shower. Why didn't anyone tell me I wouldn't be able to see my fat sausage toes and feet. Well I had her and managed to only loose 30 lbs of the 64. So here I am way bigger then what I was. None of my clothes fit. But I dealt with it. I was 135 for 5 years.
Then I got pregnant with Richie luckily only gained 39. After him got down to 122. Yeah breastfeeding and IBS. LOL I am so kidding!
Nicholas was a little different 50 lbs. So here I am at 128-130. I am doing good but can be better.
So my dilemma is body image disturbance. I hate my body. My tummy skin flaps around. My boobs resemble something of an Ethiopian mama in the Sudan. Yeah not a pretty picture huh.
Well to remedy the situation I am going to get a consult with a plastic surgeon. Maybe some day if I am daring crazy or stupid enough I 'll post some pics in a bikini someday.

30th Anniversary!
It was my parent's 30th anniversary . We had a small dinner at the house. It was really nice. I am pleased to say aside from my grandparents, they are still married. Everyone else is divorced or remarried but nope not my parents. They are still together.
They met in 6th grade, and have liked each other ever since. I think it's so cute!

30th Anniversary
Richie's appetizers. That what was left. He made shrimp, crab salad and placed it in the tomatoes and onions. The he made asparagus wrapped in some sort of meat.
Family to visit. Don't mind the gigantic butt load of toys in the corner.
More family shots.
My Tia Sheesh and Nicholas.
My cousin with her baby girl. She is such a happy baby.

Things I may have said at work!
OK this is a spin off of Tiburon's thread of things she may or may not have said this week.
Well working in the ER I get to say well something different things like....
How fast was the car going when you jumped out?
Oh your back I have seen you 4 times this week. How can I help you today?
Oh that looks bad.
A little tylenol never hurt anyone?
Don't put things in your nose or ears. OK!
You called the ambulance for a hurt foot?
You jumped from a 15 foot fence. Nice!
No I can not give you anymore pain med's.
No I am sorry this is not a restaurant I can't order off a menu for you. This is all they sent. Sorry.
