If your toe hurts please don't go to the ER unless you think it's broke.
If you have had a funky looking mole but today you thought to come to the ER please don't rethink it could it wait till your DR is opens tommorrow?
Cough for 4 months sure maybe you could come in.
Any funky bumps or rashes lastly more than 2 months hmmm I dunno man is it an ER visit.
A pregnancy test sure but you know there is a wal greens down the street.
You want refills on your pain med's um that's a NO unless you have a really good reason.
I know I may sound bitter or harsh but I have worked in the ER for years and years. I have seen almost it all. From those who want free meals to those who want drugs to those who have nothing better to do than sit in a nice warm/or cool er where you can have a rest.
Today I wasn't feeling well so please tell me why your cold is worse than mine. I am still here at work why aren't you at your job?
Yeah I know bad nurse. Yes I do have compassion for my patients. I love my patients but please don't test my patience.

Phew it's over. I survived 3 large trash bags of wrapping paper and boxes. A roaster oven full of tamales rice and beans. I managed to cook my first meal by myself. Ham, sweet potato's, veggies, and mashed potatoes. It came out pretty good if I do say so myself.
We had Christmas Eve at my home for my mom's side of the family. It was nice. I had plenty of room since we knocked down the wall. The house smelled great with all the smells of Christmas, and food.
Christmas Day was at my home. Big Richie worked both days so like I said I was on my own for cooking. We invited his parents mine and my Tio's David. It was good.
Oh I had plenty of dishes to do took me almost 2 days to get my house back in order. But in all I like the holidays.
One major bummer I think I lost my pictures from Christmas so I have none to post. I am bummed but hopefully I can get them from my parents the pics they took.
Until next year.:)

Yep I will probably scare my guests. I am going to cook Christmas Dinner by myself. Anyone who knows my family knows that Big Richie is the cook in the family. The man can whip up just about anything. I swear I should be about 400 lbs. But anyways my point is Richie has to work Christmas Eve as well as day. That means I need to make food by myself on Christmas day. Usually we don't do anything but this year he wants to start the tradition of having Christmas day festivities at our home. I am excited about it starting our own traditions heck we've been married 8 years now we should start some right?
But I am nervous I am afraid I will burn something. I must say the menu is bleak. I will make a chicken pot pie (thanks costco), mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, sweet potatoes. And I bought some deserts from Vons. Oh and a ham.
Wish me luck

Gianna had a fundraiser selling candles. Well Big Richie sold candles, LOL she sold over 900.00 in candles. The top sellers got a prize, the top prize was a Nintendo Wii the 2nd prizes were Ipod shuffles. Well she was 200.00 short of the top prize so she won a shuffle. She was happy.
Richie has an imagination you won't believe. I love the stories he tells me and the things he makes up. He told me a story that the ice cream truck was broken the tire broke mama he said and he needed a screw driver. This is alot I think considering he is only 2 I love his imagination.
Nicholas is a mama's boy already. He is majorily teething at this moment and bites anything. He drools gnaws and tries to eat his fingers. He found his hands and loves to stare at them.
So we all have bills I am thinking though I would like to pay some off soon. So I am thinking I will maybe go to registry nursing. I want to work a few shifts per month here and there. It gives me more experience and hopefully will get me out of my comfort zone of the ER. Plus you can't beat 450.00 dollars take home right for one day of work?
As for my business, I am still waiting from the city to approve my stuff hopefully soon. But with the holidays here I think it may take awhile.

He has a bit of eczema but other than that he is doing very well. We are not starting rice cereal yet due to the risk f food allergies. But he seems very content with his best freinds the boobs.

Anyone that has small children knows what a nightmare it is to get a professional picture done. You have to dress X amount of kids. They have to make it over to the studio with out any spits ups muddy pants or head bands out of whack. You hope and pray they cooperate. Get in the car try not to get too wrinkly. sp? And there you make it to the studio, only to find out they are not ready for you. UGH (bangs head against wall) Why on earth do you make appointments if they are not honored I am thinking to myself.
So it's our time finally after meandering around the mall killing time. Get everyone in place, and here we go. Richie refuses to smile. He says NO at the top of his lungs he doesn't want to according to him. He tell the nice lady No so many times it isn't even funny. He wants to play with the blocks and toys rather than sit still. Gianna bickers her knees are tired they had her on her knees posing. Nicholas can only sit back and decide now is a good time to gnaw on my shirt and for good measure spit up as well. Than proceeds to eat his shirt as well. I love it thank heavens for dark colors.
My hubby misses a more formal portrait he says where he stands and everyone else does as well. He doesn't like the posing that is done at a certain kiddie place. So after 24 shots we got 2 and it wasn't even our best 2 but oh well. It's done. PHEW
On to next year and hopefully better pictures.

Brand new home and we are already knocking down walls. I am happy to say we have knocked down a wall that separates the two living rooms. The wall you see above behind the chandelier is the wall that is coming down. I am so excited can't wait to post updated pics when it's finally finished.
Did I tell you I braved the day after thanksgiving sales. I was out of the house by 5 am. I hit the big stores I wanted to. KB Toys Macys, Gymboree. I am such a nut I went on Wed. and held some clothes at Gymboree, and Dillards. I came back on Friday when they went on sale more and scooped them up. I love a good deal. I also included for your enjoyment a picture of the kids on Thanksgiving.
Things have been super busy here again as usual. Big Richie went out of town to the Oakland game with some friends. I am happy he got out of the house he works so much. I think he had a good time. He went to Pier 39 and went shopping. He brought back goodies for the kids and some sinful chocolate from Ghiradelli's square. Oh it's so good. I stayed at home with the kids. Gianna had a sleep over at grandma's house so one kid out and the boys and I hung out.

well it was bound to happen Gianna lost her two front teeth so the song all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth would be mighty appropriate for her this year. I am sad my little girl is getting big and so are my boys. I see them growing too fast.
Richie is talking up a storm he has such a personality he cracks me up. He makes up games and has such an imagination it amazes me.
Gianna is doing so well in school. She got the flag, which is a big to do. They give you a sticker so your parents can put in on the bumper. It is their version as a citizen ship award. SHe was the first one to get it this year. I couldn't be prouder. She also is doing extremlly well in ballet. I am so proud of my girl.
And my Nicholas is such a joy I call him the bobble head he is looking all around these days wonder what is out there. He laughs with such glee in his eyes. He really is a good baby all around.
And my business is taking off I am getting all the needed paper work done and found a hook up to make my shirts. I am well on my way. :)
Hey everyone sorry been a bad blogger again. I have been super busy I worked all last weekend. And of course had to brave the mall day after thanksgiving. It wasn't too much of a mad house. It was a good thanksgiving spent time with the family and had a great meal.

Today is a great day I finally found someone to help out with the children. I am very lucky my aunt has agreed to come help out a few days per week. Yeah me, now I can go out to the store with out all the children, go to an appointment with out kids in tow. Make some phone calls with out someone yelling mama mama at the top of their lungs. I am so happy.
I pulled Gianna's front top tooth out last night. She was upset but the poor tooth was dangling there holding on by a thread. So yank I pulled it out. She cried for a bit but that's Gianna it wouldn't be her unless some tears were involved. LOL I am sad to say though she looks some what like a snaggle tooth now in front oh well for Christmas pictures. My poor baby girl.
Richie is a potty training graduate he is doing very well. He does on occasion have a poopy accident but other wise he is doing really well. He loves to turn on the water after to wash his hands and gets a kick out of flushing the toilet. Oh the joys of a 2 yr old.
Nicholas I am told is a big boy. I guess when you see them every day you don't know how big they really are. Well according to everyone else he looks like a 6 month old. I love my big ol baby he is such joy a happy baby. Yes he has his crying moments but it's usually because he likes the arms and wants to be snuggled all day long.
enough for now have a great day. thanks for reading.

Yep as long as no one comes along and claims that name , that is the name of my new clothing business. Now some of you may wonder how the heck I came up with that name? Well I am reading a book called The Way see here . Anyways I flip flopped back and forth thinking what to call it. I thought I need to have faith in this company and myself that I can make it work. Thus FIDELIS was thought. It means faithfull in Latin.
So I am on my way meetings are done now paper work to do. I figure it'll take some time for the liscense and the permits to come in. Till than I am looking forward to the holidays coming up and spending a nice thanksgiving at home with the kids.

I had to work Thursday had Friday off and worked the weekend. I was super busy these past few days. Returning to work is fun. It also reminds me how naive people can be and how many should not have children in my little opinion.
Friday was my meeting with the small business admin. They told me the first steps I need to take I was on the right track but had things out of order so I need many more stops along the way in order to start the business. I have another meeting this Friday again to discuss tax's and book keeping good times Huh?
Saturday and Sunday I earned my pay check I was super busy had sick people and time consuming patients. I was happy they liked me as a nurse and were happy with the care I gave them. It's always nice to get postive feed back from my patients. I saw a few reagualr patients too. We call them frequent fliers. You recall them by name and know their whole medical history by heart they don't even have to tell you again because you know them so well. One of them was a very nice patient who I ahve had to take care of in the past the family is always nice and pleasant. Makes my job much easier.
Monday was veg day I literally wanted to sleep all day the skies were gloom since it rained in the night. I was tired the weekend had caught up with me.
Today is a new day Gianna is getting an award at school I have a Breastfeeding coaltition meeting today not sure if I can make it back in time for Gianna's award so I may skip that meeting. Ballet is tonight. Just another day in our household here. Richie is still potty training well. He has accidents from time to time. And Nicholas my sweet baby is 3 months now. Time is flying by.
Wednesday, November 7, 2007
I am so excited some of you may have heard I am going to be opening my own clothing store based out of the house first. Think of me as the Tupperware lady of children's clothes. Currently I am in the process of obtaining business license and sellers permits. Starting a business is scary. I am going about it slowly taking my time and have an appointment with the small business administration this Friday. Big Richie is excited for me and is glad I am taking the leap to do something I really want. I am still deciding on a name. But I think I have it figured out. Stay tuned for more updates.

Once again it is time change again. A roll back of the clocks and an interuption in sleep. It is 6:30 here I am have been up since 5 am. I can not get back to sleep. Of course the children can sleep in but not mommy. Today's agenda is getting Gianna off to school going to get some much needed paper work done for Nicholas. And maybe later going to the treehouse to let Richie play.
On another note. Potty training is going pretty well. He even told me when we were out in town when he needed to go. he has had a few accidents so far but otherwise it's great not to worry about diapers anymore. Heck 2 kids in diapers is expensive. So soon hopefully it'll be one only.
Thanks for reading.

Here are some pictures from Nicholas's baptism. His godparents or padrino's were Nichole and Bryan Obeso they are both my cousins. Nicholas did so well during the mass, and while being blessed by the water. We had a small luncheon afterwards at our home. We are so happy to have Nicholas finally baptized.

Oh the joys of potty training. Gianna was a breeze no problems no pull up hardly an accident and never had an accident at night. Richie is a different story. I know all kids are different. My Richie surely is. This morning started out with him crying about no more diapers. He yelled and screamed and threw himself down. I had him naked from the waist down all day. I needed to put some clothes on him to get Gianna from school. And of course he had an accident. So we get home he finally pooped and peed on the potty chair. I swear we could have won the lottery I was so happy. He got a big hug kiss and was excted too. I think we maybe on to something. Will keep trying all this week I really hope he gets it.
Once he is trained off to preschool he goes. I am so excited.

So we finally purchased another treadmill. I am so happy and overjoyed that is has pre-set programs and a better motor and some sort of cushion thing. So hopefully not as bad on the knees as the previous one. Time to start running again.
Today was so warm I am so ready for winter temperatures to begin. It's been hovering in the low 90's still. I really need to be able to break out with a sweater sometime soon. It's funny I bought winter clothes for the kids awhile back and they may grow out of them before winter even rolls around here. Oh well I guess thats what we get for living in the desert.
I joined a month long weight loss pool on an online board I visit. I hope I can loose 10 lbs or more within the month. I am very ready for my clothes to start fitting again. Oh the joys of post-partum baby weight. I swear my hips get bigger after every child I have.
Enough of my crying for now. Off I go to run. Happy Running!

So Sunday was my first day back to work. I am use to getting up early that was no biggie. But as I looked at Nicholas sleeping so peacefully in my bed, I wished I didn't have to go back. But reality has set in and so have the bills. I needed to return back to work. I made sure to pump before I left and thankfully left a 6 oz bottle of fresh milk.
Work was busy at first it takes awhile to get back into the groove of things. I had all my beds full when I took assignment. Patients being admitted, some going to OR, some still haven't been seen by the Dr. The day just started out busy. It seemed like I was getting all the pediatric children that day in my beds that made me wish I was at home more with all my babies. Luckily I was not too rusty when it came to start an IV.
Overall it was a decent day I pumped 2x during my shift. Next time I will pump 3x. Hopefully on those days my milk supply won't drop too badly and screw up the rest of the week.
Nicholas did well being with out me he slept alot according to hubby. The other kids are easier now and can fend for themselves some what. So yeah back to the work grind. Thankfully I don't have to work too much just a few shifts a month. YIPEE
So I decided to try something different with the children this year. We painted and potato headed our pumpkin's. Richie enjoyed himself, so did Gianna. Here are some pictures of their little creations. Of course we had to make a baby pumpkin for Nicholas complete with pacifier and all.

Yep we attended our first meeting. I got myself and the kids dressed and out the door by 9:20 rushing to get there by 9:30. Ok so we were late. I signed in met some mommies and proceeded to take Richie to the child care area. A really cute room with a Noah Ark in it the kids can play with toys or in the ark like a real day care center. Anyways I am listening to the MOPS meeting start. And you would never guess I was called back to get Richie because he was having a crying fit. I literally could hear him down the hall. Oh my Richie.
So I proceed to bring him back hoping and praying he would sit still and be quiet enough. He was for all of about 10 minutes. It's 9:50 at this point and the meeting ends at 11:30. Yeah me. I barter for good behavior with grapes, snacks, and juice. That keeps his content for about 20 minutes. Than we go to see a demonstration about making popcorn balls they looked fabulous by the way she used tiny red hot candies looked yummy and smelled great. But back to Richie he gets antsy again and starts to roll on the floor picking up every dirt imaginable along the way. When he was done rolling he begins to scoot his butt along the floor making his way back to the snack table. So here I am juggling Richie, Nicholas, and trying to seem like I am listening. Oh the joys of Richie. I think we will go again but then again I might leave him with my mom instead.
Otherwise it was great to talk with some other mommies. We listened to a devotional have a fund raiser coming up selling Family Fun Magazine for 10 bucks. A real steal and you get 10 issues. If you've never seen this magazine it's a must for mommies and grandmas too. And hey Christmas is coming up too.

I have run 3 races so far. Actually they are pretty fun if you like training and sometimes freezing your butt off like I did in Vegas Half Marathon. Above are 2 pictures from races. The one in purple is from the Carlsbad 5000 a great race with awesome views. The second is from the Vegas Half marathon this past December. OH that was something. It was cold I was cranky and oh I was pregnant and didn't even know it. I swear if I had had money I would have hailed a cab. But hey I finished so that's all that counts . I also did the Inagural Disneyland Half Marathon. If you are a runner who also likes disneyland that is one to do. The course is great and lot's of people motivating you along the way. It's like a tour of Disneyland CA Adventures the anaheim stadium and of course the orginal disneyland.
So now I am post baby and need to start running again. I like this website to train it gives some great basic training tips. I think will be training for the Carlsbad 5000 again. Have fun running. :)
I am not one to take out the huge camcorder and shoot video of the kids. So Big Richie bought us this awhile back. I absolutely love it small like a camera and can shoot up to 30 minutes of video. Perfect for my purse and the picture is actually pretty good. So now I have no excuse to take videos of the kiddies.

Yes it is that time when it seems the illness will be passed from children to parent and back again. Fun Fun Fun. Richie has been at battle with a head cold. He is whiney as can be, and has a runny nose to add to his frustration. He becomes so tired, and when that boy is tired he becomes clumsy so we have lots of bumps over the last few days. I guess it doesn't help either that he throws himself down for his tantrums. Nicholas is starting with a runny or congested nose as well. It's making nursing more difficult as he can't breath and nurse at the same time. Gianna and Big Richie have been spared for the moment. I am sure their time will come soon enough.
off now to wipe more noses and do more wash. Yipee

It seems all of southern california is on fire. It is stretching from Malibu to San Diego. I am far enough away from the fires but feel so bad for those who had to be evacuated. Recent reports have over 250,000 at Qualcomm stadium - where the chargers play at. I can't even imagine. I was told one of our ER dr's witnessed his home burning while watching the news this morning. How tragic to know you are over 1.5 hours away and know when you get there your house will no longer be there. I'll be praying for those who are misplaced and have lost their homes.

My new favorite thing is from Martha Stewart. Packaging for all those goodies and gifts that you might bake for the upcoming holidays. I know I make my neighbors cookies and cakes. I can't wait to put them in these wonderful packages I think they will look so much nicer. Available soon at Michaels stores. I can't wait to start baking. Yummy

This weekend I finally got a new phone it has been 2 years since my last one. I am finally in the age of texting. Mind you it took me about 2 minutes to learn how to text on my phone. This phone has so many bells and whistles I may need the "dummies" books to know how to use it. But I am excited it's like a new toy at Christmas time. The novelty of it will wear off soon. I am sure it'll be at the bottom of my purse lost in the abyss of my diaper bag or stuck in a seat some where. I am sure Richie will find new and exciting ways to launch it across the room or spill whatever juice he is drinking on it. I will find a way to beat it up as well, or drop it in the street . As I have with my other phones. Luckily this time I was smart and got insurance. Yipee for me.

We went to the famous San Diego Zoo that was fun Richie was semi interested in the animals. Gianna was excited and of course Nicholas slept and fed his way through the park. We didn't do the whole park way to hard to get on and off the buses they provide so we walked it. Well we walked as much as we could lets just say. :)
