The New Year is almost upon us. A lot closer for those who live on the other side of the world or my east coasters.
So do you make resolutions? I made a few. Sheri had a good idea of making 12. One for every month.
I want to lose the rest of my weight this year.
I would like to pay off our truck.
I want to go on more dates with my hubby.
Spend more fun time with my kiddies.
Get in to the bachelor's program.
I think these are some resolutions I can keep.
So what are your's?

Fuzzy Dice Anyone?
I saw these on a website and bust up laughing. For anyone that doesn't know. Pan Dulce is sweet bread. You can find it at a panderia. I thought these were too cute. You can buy them here. Xochico

Christmas Break= Going Nuts
I love my children don't get me wrong. But there is something to be said about the 2 weeks they get off and the sanity I lose when they are all home. I never thought I would say this but tomorrow I am happy to go to work. Enough said.

Christmas in my house!
The toys and loads of trash in the back. It was a pure mess for about 2 days.
Christmas morning my kids all in their sock monkey jammies.
Christmas Eve at my house my dad trying to help open toys and clean up the trash.
More mess and toys and gifts all around.
I think the kids had a great Christmas next year I vow to have a simple Christmas.

My house threw up toys!
I think my house may never recover. I did however clean out one of the toy boxes and it still looks bad. I mean I have little pieces of toys every where. I am afraid to walk the house with out any shoes on in fear of a little astronaut or wheel getting stuck some where.
I am spoiled I know I know, but today the cleaners were suppose to come I thought I would come home and my house would be clean. Nope no call no cleaner. My house is still strewn with toys.
So I cleaned I did the bath rooms the floor swept, vacuumed, scrubbed the oven. I am tired.
Then 5 minutes later it was dirty again. oh I love my life.

What is it about mommyhood?
Today I feel like a bad mommy.
I am sad for my pitiful looking house that has not been cleaned in 3 days.
I am sad for the floor that has so many crumbs mice could live like kings for an entire year.
I am looking at 4 piles of clothes that need to be folded and probably ironed now too since they have been sitting in baskets.
I have worked the last 2 days. I am utterly so tired when I get home I crash out on the couch.
I am on my last few diapers if I don't make it to the market soon I may need to learn how to make a diaper out of a beach towel.
Today is Christmas Eve, instead of being in holiday spirit I am sitting around in yoga pants, and a sweatshirt. Cursing at the evil cramps I just recieved Merry Christmas to me.
I am tired.
And now I am stressed still haven't figured out where I want to work out in the hospital.
oh and don't tell the hubby but I am so broke I doubt he will get that super duper guitar hero band kit he wanted. Sorry Love.

Snow in the desert!
We traveled up to San Diego this weekend. We have to go through the mountains to get there. The kids were so excited to see some snow. Granted it's probably a few inches of it and it's covered in mud and dirt but to them it's snow none the less.
Here is a picture I took while going umm about 80 miles per hour. ssh don't tell no one.
It's funny to see some left considering it was so warm that day. Hopefully soon enough the mountains will get more and the kids will get to play in it.

It's our anniversary
This past Saturday the 20th we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. We got married in Vegas 9 years ago. Yes we were crazy to get married right before Christmas but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am very proud and happy to call Richie my husband. I can only hope for many more years to come.

Things I have done lately! badness
- Almost made the physician assistant cry at work. No it's not a girl I almost made a grown man cry.
-I baked over 4 dozen of cookies and probably ate that much too.
- I skipped a singing event for Gianna. I have a lot on my plate right now.
- Dare I say it I actually bought store bought cupcakes instead of baking my own.
I got the dreaded this is what you need to bring to the party list, and heck I had to work till 7 pm those days. So it was a toss up to making dinner for the kids or feed them cupcakes. I chose dinner.
- Cried, whined, and talked till I was blue in the face to stay in the ER. umm I lost.
- Decided I will go to the ICU on my temporary hiatus while hubby is the new ER boss.
That is all for now. Now I will go to San Diego for the weekend. See ya!

Reason # 128829308475897896
Why I will go crazy this morning it's 7:30 and I have had 3 time outs, crying over spilled milk, cheerios all over the floor, and a little boy who climbs on tables in a flash when you turn your back for one minute.
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
oh and a Gianna that asks if today is like summer break I don't have to go to school anymore.

Baking Chaos
I started baking yesterday which carried over to today. Phew it was tough on my waist line. I gained 2 lbs this weekend. I couldn't' help myself all those yummies. Like thumbprints, lemon bars, brownies, snickerdoodles. Of course I had to taste test them all to make sure they were edible. Anyways here are some pictures from this morning. The boys wore their sock monkey pj's from target last night.
Day dreaming about all those cookies. He is just waiting to get his little mittens on. Did I tell you he climbed on top of the table today. I swear he will be the death of me.
Happy little guy. His favorite part is sitting on the presents.
I had to bring in an extra table just to have room on our counter tops. Hubby is making flan this year, thus the many cans of condensed milk. We also made chocolate covered pretzels.
My counter top. It's a mess I know I know. But from this mess comes yummy stuff.

Party Weekend.
This was a busy weekend and week. Hubby and his whirlwind agenda since he has this new position. We had 2 parties to go to this weekend. The first was the ER party Friday night. Plus Gianna had the parade she was in plus a performance at the tree lighting ceremony. So of course we showed up late oh well. It was OK not too many people showed up. Just the usual suspects.
Saturday night was the big hospital party. They changed the venue this year. It was very nice elegant. Of course we got dressed up but didn't stay very long. I was bored honestly it was boring. I have never been on a cruise but let's just say it was reminiscent of a jazz bar complete with a piano bar singer. People dressed up with costume jewelery hair done up and old ladies with furs. I am not going to say what kind of furs but let's have a minute to mourn the passing of some bunnies.
Well here are the pics. I swear I think I am going to buy myself a shirt that says " I am so gonna blog this".

Papa's got a brand new bag! Not mama does!!
oh I didn't think anything could make my palms sweat make me teary eyed and have a grin from ear to ear.
Yes I have a problem for which there is no cure. I have a purse addiction.
Hello My name is Ida and I am addicted to purses.
I was so surprised when the hubby gave me my anniversary/ Christmas present early. He sent me on a scavenger hunt in the garage. We played the "hot and cold" game. He must know there was no way I was gonna find my bag in the garage especially in the garage cabinets. I was so surprised.Usually I find my gifts early but not this time.
oh I love love love this bag.
Yes I am one spoiled woman. What baby wants baby gets. LOL Just kidding not always. But today I did. :)

Hubby got a job.
I don't know if you remember awhile back my hubby decided he wanted a change. So he quit his job as a supervisor. Since then he has been at home mostly but still working with the nursing students. Well this past week he interviewed for an interim spot as the director of the ER. He got the job yeah, but boo now I have to leave the department. I guess that leaves me in limbo. I have been cross training for the ICU I guess now I will go there. ugh I hate that I have to leave. We use to work together before. But since he will be my "boss" I can't work with him anymore. At least we still know who the real boss is at home. LOL
Hopefully it won't be that long. They will find a permanent replacement and he will still get to fly away on his helicopter dreams.

Words from toddlerland
My Richie cracks me up. The kid is funny in a 3 year old way but funny. He dances when music comes on. He sings songs in the car. And when I shut off the radio he shouts that was my song ma!
He tell me he loves me everyday and wants hugs, and kisses. Ask him how was his day at school he'll answer well I ate I slept I played that's all. I wish we all had days like his. His latest trick is this.
He is also learning to use chopsticks. So he can be all that he can be in the asian world.
He loves chow mein. He really does. He is getting pretty handy with his learner chopsticks.
I love that lil guy cracks me up. :)

Things I do at Christmas
I do a lot of baking at Christmas. I bake breads, and cookies. I love decorating them and giving them to my neighbors. I love wrapping them up all cute, and handing them out.
I am pressed for time this year. I need to start baking now so I can get a move on it. I think as always work is getting in my way.
I am also in search of a cute advent candle holder. I can not find one in our little town. I know it's too late for this advent season. So maybe I will find one after Christmas on sale online. If you know me you know I love a good deal.
This year with ballet Gianna has 2 performances. One on a float waving at the crowd, then a performance at the city tree lighting ceremony. The other is at Christmas in a small town. Hundreds of vendors take their crafts, goodies, and foods to sell at the festival. It seems everyone comes out of the wood work, and you see people you haven't seen in years.
In addition we have 2 Christmas parties this year. The ER party this Friday where everyone always has a good time. Lot's of food lot's of drink, dancing just a good ol' time. Of course I won't be drinking but it sure is funny to see other people drunk. LOL The other party is the big hospital party. Of course hubby will wear a suit, me a dress. The big wigs of the hospital will be there it should be fun. I hope.
So you can see this month is a busy one. I hope I will survive.

Weight Loss Journey
I am so happy to finally say I reached a weight loss milestone. I had gained over 50 lbs when I was pregnant with Nicholas believe it or not. I have now lost 49 lbs since he has been born. It took over 15 months to lose. I am so happy to say I have only 5 more lbs to go. Till I reach my real goal.
Look out April I am getting a mama make over. wooohooo! I would show you before and after's but your eyes might bleed. She's a hot mess and her name is stretch marks.

Week in Review
Busy week as usual. I ran errands with the hubby on Monday. On Tuesday I vegged out I was tired for some reason like the feeling achy all over sort of tired. But we managed to get out to the local farmer's market, ate a early dinner at my favorite Mexican place, and took Gianna to ballet.
Wednesday and Thursday were work days as usual. It should be stamped here on my blog Ida will be out of the blog office on Wed. and Thursday.
Today I had CPR class. It's mandatory of course so I had to go. ugh! Hubby Richie and Gianna went to Vegas. Me and the boys are home being bums. I love it.

The shock the disbelief!
Can you believe it I have always said never make me in charge in the ER, well that day finally came. Who am I kidding I knew it would happen someday. Not saying that in a boastful way it was scheduled already. ;)
It happened we all survived. Although it was super duper busy. I had a sick call, and was short staffed to begin with. Then people tell me they had to leave early phew. But we survived. I had a CPR in progress. Lot's of people holding to be admitted and more then 13 people waiting outside at all times.
But I learned I survived everyone had their breaks and I did not lose all my hair. But most important I didn't yell. LOL
On to next time.

My part to stimulate the economy.
I did my part I went shopping I made a list I conquered most of it.
I have so wanted a Willow Tree Nativity set for years now. But me in my cheapness refuse to pay full price. So I was one lucky girl when I got it for half off. woot woot!
I also visited Macy's where I found lot's of goodies.
I also got a fake tree. I know I know it's not the same as a real one. But the real ones are 80 and up. So I figured why not go a "little green" not cut down a poor tree and got a huge fake one for cheap. A huge 9 foot tree.
I am a happy shopper saved some cash and got some stuff. So did you do your part too?

Thankful Thursday
Thankful Thursday Turkey addition.
I have a tradition at our house when we have thanksgiving meal. Before the meal we mostly all say what we are thankful for and then we all pray together. It's a really nice way to remember how much we truly have and how blessed we are.
This year I am thankful for my life. Like I have said before I have a pretty good life. I have a great husband a beautiful family. A steady job, a roof over our heads, food on our table, and a an income coming in.
In today's economy most don't have the same luxurious as us, not saying we are living big here. But we have a very comfortable life. I thank God every day for my life. For that I am very thankful.

Pulling teeth! No wait just our family portraits.
So it was that time of year again. In my head I have imagined these perfect pictures where my kids are smiling facing the camera. Clothes neatly pressed not a hair out of place.
Nope not our pictures. I say our pictures are like pulling teeth. My kids won't smile. Won't sit still don't face the camera. You know like regular kids. There was crying there was squirming but we got some pictures done.
Behold the motherload of pictures.
ok ok my hair was out of place oh well our family portraits are done for the year. Phew!

Week in Review
So I am basically a bad mom and took Gianna out of school on Friday. We had a lazy day took our time getting up and headed for Sea World yet again. Gotta love season passes and free parking.
We literally had the whole park to ourselves. It was dead. I mean no wait in any lines dead. The kids rode the rides. Saw some shows it was great.
We then went to our hotel where I proceeded to get deathly ill. An illness where the hubby was like do I need to take you to the ER. I vomited to many times to count. It was horrible. What was worse was I had pictures scheduled to be taken the next day early.
I was a skinny mess. Skinny because I lost about 3 lbs in one night for being sick.
Saturday woke up with an upset stomach but made my call time at 9 am. Didn't eat a thing though to scared. I had my pin up pictures done. It was so girly and so much fun. I highly suggest doing it. I had my hair and make up done. They had an entire wardrobe to choose from it was great. They took about 50 shots. I had them done by Mitzi and Co.

My childhood cartoons.
I miss old cartoons. The cartoons these days scare me a bit. Some cuss or say bad words. Others dress to sexy for the 6 year old set. I was a kid of the 80 and 90's. I was born in 1979 so I was a bit young for the whole brat pack era.
I watched things like Rainbow Brite. I loved her she was great. I use to have a little doll of her.
I remember Fraggle Rock. I use to watch it on Saturday mornings. If I remember correctly it was on HBO.
The smurfs love the smurfs. Papa Smurf was my favorite. Who the heck thought up the smurfs I don't know but I loved them.
But my most favorite was PeeWee's playhouse. I absolutely loved the playhouse. I loved every part of it. I think I may buy them on DVD for my own kids. I hope they can appreciate the quirky humor of PeeWee.

I did it!
Today I registered for school. I am so happy and nervous.
This old mama is going back to school. With teeny boppers who have no worries.
I registered for an online english reading class for winter semester. I also registered for a math class algebra II where I have to sit in a real classroom. arrghhhhhhhhhhh!
I am excited I can't wait. I need a total of 5 classes to get in to the bachelor's program. So if I finish those only a few more to go. wooohoooo.

Family Photo's
I am determined to do a family portrait this year. The kind where hubby wears a suit. I a pretty dress. Gianna dressed to the nine's as well as the boys. I wonder if we can pull it off. I wonder where to go. Everyone knows pictures can be expensive. Heck even going to Kiddie's is an arm and a leg.
Plus I don't think hubby can handle the kneeling and bending involved at kiddie's when he's wearing a suit. So this year I may book with a professional photographer. I have been searching for some here where we live. I could try to do the picture myself. But I doubt I am quick enough with the timer on the camera.
So hopefully I can find a photographer who won't break the bank and who we all can like and say CHEESE to.

Week in Review
This has been a hard week for me. I am a talker. Not being able to talk has spared the kids my yelling. The hubby was spared my ranting and the honey do list. I did sleep a lot due to medication. I became good friends with the pharmacist at Target. I got that look like it's you again with my visits every 2 days.
My dentist is now richer thanks to me. And I will be sporting a nifty mouth guard that comes in Monday.
Today I do feel better so much so I agreed to go to work tomorrow. Although I did ask not to be triage. That involves too much talking.
With my new found health and feeling normal again I did venture out to shop. My favorite retail therapy.
I scored as usual, at Gap and Old Navy gotta love coupons. So I am well on my way to scratching people off my Christmas List. phew!

Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for...
This took a lot for me to think about since I have been in pain since Sunday so here ya go.
I am thankful for pain med's. I am currently taking percocet and tylenol 3 for which I am thankful for taking the pain away.
I am thankful for knowing what I have it's called TMJ. It sort of feels like a charlie horse on the left side of my jaw that isn't going away.
I am thankful for a hubby that stays up with me when I am crying in pain.
I am thankful for 2 days off from work so I don't have to talk or eat or do much of anything.
I am sure my kids are thankful that mommy can't yell at them. It hurts to much. LOL

Things you didn't know about me.
This post from Mindi at Word to Your Mother had me cracking me up. I just thought of all the jobs I had while trying to make a buck in this world.
They included:
1. I was a candy striper at a local hospital. I know I didn't get pain but it was my first job that I acutally had set hours and wore a nifty smock. Red and pink was all the rage.
2. I worked at a hamburger stand. Yeah not my finest job but a job that bought me whatever cute outfit I wanted while in high school. I worked as a cashier and the drive thru lane. All this while making my own change. We didn't have a fancy cash register.
3. I worked at a Thrifty's store. I use to be the ice cream girl. OH don't you love Thrifty's ice cream it was so yummy. Then I was promoted to cashier. Which one day I gave a man way too much change and almost lost my job.
4. I did a temp job worked at 4 different offices. All of them sucked.
5.I worked as a medical assistant for a Dr's office. He was a farmer more than a Dr. I use to say that we sent patients through there like a cattle line. Sometimes seeing more than 100 a day.
6. When I moved to the big city I worked as a detested telemarketer for 1 day. That job was horrible. I did go to an interview that ened up being a pyramid scheme.
7. In the city I worked for a Hair Cut Store. That was fun.
8. In the city I worked in a bank I was a teller.
9. I came home from the big city and I worked at the hospital.
I still work for that same hospital. Can you believe I did all these jobs by the age of 19. Yeah I was busy.

To old for School, me?
I have been debating for going on 2 years about going back to school. My hubby finished up his bachelor's. Now it's suppose to be my turn. But we as mothers and fathers know how it goes. Family, work and every day life can get in the way.
I need 5 classes to transfer to SDSU's nursing program. It doesn't seem like much but of those 5 I need to take some in order. Like 2 math classes, an inorganic chemistry class, a humanties, and a english class. yipee.
So we will see maybe this year I will start my path again. But boy oh boy I do feel old going back to school. I will be in school with some little 18 year old who worries about her pt job and what she will wear this weekend. While I will be worrying about what to make for dinner, who will watch my kids, and when will I be able to finish my homework.
Yeah school is cool.

Sick Sick Sick
I woke up Sunday and felt a little off. Well a lot off. I felt like I had been punched in the jaw and ear on my left side. So of course I tell Richie umm did you punch me in the middle of the night. He says no of course. But through out the day my jaw and ear hurt. So I took Motrin, tylenol more motrin more tylenol. I swear I was keeping the pharmacies in business.
Nothing worked! By 8 p.m. I am freaking out in pain. I take half a vicodin nothing. Half hour later take another half. All that get's me is a visit to the porcelin king. I guess me and Vicodin equal vomiting. Despite taking it on a full tummy. I was literally crying in pain.I tried oragel I tried sudafed nothing.....
I gaged it up there with labor pain for which they invented epidurals, and kidney stone pain. Nothing was working. I finally took a hot steamy shower, and then proceeded to stick my face in the sink for more hot steam.
I was a mess, but oh yes my pores do look wonderful today.. LOL
Wake up today after a lovely 4 hours of sleep only to find out that nope my ear is still there and the sucker still hurts.
Called my in laws who came to the rescue. Hubby took me to the ER. I walk in looking like the walking dead. They gave me a room. I get an IV some fluids some toradol. Which did nothing at all. oh and Zofran since I had puked 4 times this morning.
Toradol sucks. They whip out with dilaudid. WTH? I don't take any med's usually and they whip out the big stuff. I think I managed to get .5 cc before I get all woozy and feel like the room is spinning. Horrible horrible feeling. oh and the nausea started again.
One 1500.00 CT later, nope nothing is wrong. Not even my sinuses like I was thinking. So I told them to discharge me. In my rushness I throw up. yuck. Than one of the Dr's who usually isn't there said you look like shit. Yeah that's how we talk to each other. Nice huh?
He tells me let me try accupuncture on you. I say sure why not. He then starts poking about 10 needles in to me. My face, wrist, on the bridge of my nose, on my jaw. Whoa it was weird. But believe it or not. It worked.
The moral of the story I guess all I needed is some tiny needles instead of a 4 grand work up.
I feel a little better. Although my finances are crying now. :(

Let's Talk Christmas
So Christmas will be here before you know it. I am very blessed to day that our children have everything they could ever need or want. They are not super spoiled but they definetly have more than I did as a child.
I just cleaned out the toy boxes of 7 bags of toys to give to charity. Little Richie come out with why you giving my toys away? I tell him he has too many and other kids need toys too. Gianna thinks every time I clean them out they get new ones. I don't think so little lady.
So since Christmas is coming instead of many toys. I told them they could have one each. Well of course Richie points to everything and I mean everything he sees on television. Gianna too points to way too many. Thankfully Nicholas can't speak yet or else I am sure he would be pointing too.
So how do you do it at your house. I wish Christmas was not so materialistic. I do teach them it's about God we attend church. But of course they are little still, and expect or want gifts.
So do you buy lot's of little stuff or just one good gift?

3 Sheets to the Wind!
ok not really! But I did have a few drinks and danced the night away with my good buddies. For me to manage to get a sitter for the night for my 3 children was a miracle in it's self.
So me and the mister got dressed up, all matchy matchy, he wore a suit and looked so handsome. I actually wore some nylons. Oh we were styling. LOL
So here is some of the pics.
I really had a fun time. Hubby and I were not in a hurry, didn't have to worry about our curfew. We drank a bit. I danced with my girlfriends, since the hubby doesn't it was fun. :)
